NPEAB's Special Adviser

As the Executive Director of the AMF, Mr Dellal was a partner with the Chief Commissioners' Conference in the establishment of the NPEAB in 1983 and will continue to also serve on the NPEAB Advisory Panel as the AMF representative.

Mr B. (Hass) Dellal OAM, Executive Director of the Australian Multicultural Foundation (AMF), has been appointed to the National Police Ethnic Advisory Bureau (NPEAB) as a Special Adviser (14 hours per week). He will operate from the NPEAB's office one day per week and the remainder from the AMF.

The role of the Special Adviser will be to:

  • Mr B. (Hass) Dellal OAMProvide high level policy and program advice on the development of NPEAB as a lead agency in fostering positive relations between the Police and the community on multicultural affairs, including the establishment of community and government links
  • Identify areas of innovative research associated with Police and multicultural affairs
  • Identify and assist the Executive Director in accessing public and private funding for innovative projects
  • In conjunction with the Executive Director, contribute to the further development of NPEAB's international profile and links into international networks and events; link NPEAB into the AMF's international networks and events
  • Investigate and advise on the establishment of a Trust Fund to support projects that promote Police and community partnerships as good practice models.

Mr Dellal brings a wealth of experience in the field of multicultural affairs and has spearheaded a number of initiatives for the benefit and development of the general community. He will operate from the NPEAB's office one day per week and the remainder from the AMF.
